Zikel Queue Times

So for the first week of Aion, we are seeing up to double digit queue times, in hours. This is to be expected, until you see that not every server is experiencing these queues. For instance, the Ariel server is not experiencing the same queue times as we are, but we aren’t seeing the queue times that the EU players are.

At what point do try to uproot your guild and their progress thus far and try to move to another server? How many people lost is an acceptable loss due to NCSoft not being able to properly mitigate the issues? How will playing as a CDT prime-time guild cause problems with moving to a PDT server?

Too many what-ifs with this: You can’t ostracize your guild from the events on the server. You can’t expect everyone to want to stay up until right before they need to get up for work in order to participate in server events. You can’t expect everyone to recreate characters on a new server in order to re-hash the exact same quests and content that they just did.

The perfect solution to this involves looking into how EAMythic handled it. They took the servers that were struggling with queue times and cloned them. Creating copies of everything, allowing people to choose between two servers that had identical copies of their characters. This allowed many to make a switch to a lesser populated server in order to enjoy the game.

My prediction is that if NCSoft doesn’t do something soon, they are going to loose a lot of subscriptions at the end of the first month. I personally don’t know how much patience I have when I log in to wait four hours to play for one.
